How to use create a database (g5d) for gap5

Postby Antony03 » Apr 29 2012 6:57 pm

Hi!
At my work, i'm working with consed, and i tried to install this software on my personal computer but that's look really hard (I have a real BASIC notion in bioinformatic). So, I installed GAP5 with this tutorial http://tygertown.us/2011/03/install-staden-on-ubuntu-mavrick/, but, he doesn't explain how to create a database (g5d) as a .ace for input. I looked on google for 1 week and the only I found is that I need tg_index like this http://seqanswers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1923.html. But I don't really understand... in which directory I need to be for execute tg_index?
Sorry if my question looks stupid, i'm really noobs and usually a windows user...i'm new with linux!
Thanks a lot... you will save my life!
