(11) I want to be under the direction of someone who has not the faintest idea of what I'm doing, how much time it will take, and why can't be done with just some flint and steel.

12. I want to be asked for health advice by relatives and family friends even I may only know as much as them and tell them that I am not a 'real doctor'!
13. I want to let my friends have babies while I spend more time on PhD...and DELIVER a thesis instead after YEARS of LABOUR!

It may be easier if you are a vice-president.

It certainly helps if you claim to have "invented" something, like the Internet or global warming. :D

14. Because I like having people ask me stupid questions about flu that they could find easily on the US CDC's website if they weren't damn lazy...
Reading about expression of genes "in Planta" makes me think they're doing it in margarine.

16. I enjoy being around people who supposedly have a strong scientific background but are not capable of making basic decisions, rationally, on a daily basis.

Really, I find myself surprised quite often. Perhaps I should add some stories here.

Take care,
