Pipettors, single channel manual-thoughts?

Postby toxlab » Jul 18 2012 8:51 am

Hi All,
So, I have used eppendorf, rainin, and gilson pipettes in the past--though am currently using Rainin's LTS ones that I will not purchase again due to the fact that they only fit the tips sold through Rainin...and no filter tips available or gel loading ones (I will refrain from sharing my ire further).
I need to purchase a dedicated set for PCR and am looking around. What are people's thoughts on the best brands?
Anyone like the Ergo One??? We have a contracted discount and I am tempted, but know nothing of the pipettes.

Any thoughts would be appreciated,
jmb

i prefer the eppendorf "reference" pipets (not "research"). they fit my hands better than the oblong pipetman and wannabes.

LTS tips are now available from other companies (I get from VWR) and filter tips are available from Rainin and others. Perhaps because of this, Rainin's price has dropped, I believe.

Hey....
There are many brands available in the market you can switch to them and get the type of pippette you want. You can also search online. Many companies are there now-a-days that are manufacturing pipettes and other laboratory apparatus. You can contact them and check for your apparatus and also ask them for home delievery.

Just an update: I got the ErgoOne set and enjoy them much...little different in their design--but may prove to be more desirable.
As mentioned, I have used a variety of brands, and these compare nicely.
thanks,
