Why do we feel sleepy after meal?

Why do we feel sleepy after meal?

It is usually seen we start feeling sleepy after meal why is it so? How it is connected to blood glucose level?

After a meal, your blood is loaded into the digestive system, leaving the brain with less blood flow. So you will feel a little sleepy because of lower level of oxygen available to the brain cells. If you move around to facilitate the blood flow, you will not feel sleepy.
